Created attachment 22723 [details] /proc/acpi/debug_layer This error occurs repeatedly in my dmesg (and has for years now). I have a Toshiba A100 laptop. This error occurs in the kernels for both my gentoo and linux distributions. Some downstream reports are at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/63550 . I've enabled ACPI function tracing and verbose power management debugging.

well. fake ACPI fan device implemented in this laptop. Close this bug as it's a BIOS problem. you can use boot option acpi.power_nocheck=1 to get rid of these annoying messages.
