Hi there,

When I flash newer BIOS than 1703 (1808 or 1903) laptop suspends to RAM correctly, but resume fails (kernel freezes) leads to total loss of data.

To get BIOS go to:

http://support.asus.com.tw/download/download.aspx

Choose EEE Family -> EEE PC -> EEE PC 901/Linux

1. Why do you think it's a kernel bug?

2. Please try current Linus' tree.

windows still works correctly. At least workaround should exist...
Comment 3 Andrew Morton 2009-05-27 06:45:25 UTC
It may well be a BIOS bug, but we'll be seeing more machines with that BIOS,
so it would be good if Linux weren't to freeze on them.

I'll reassign it to acpi/bios.

please make sure the S3 works again when you downgrade to BIOS 1703.

please attach the acpidump out when using
1.BIOS 1703
2.BIOS 1808

Hi there,

Asus released BIOS 2001 which fixes resume under linux. So I think this bug can be closed advicing users to upgrade to this one.
