Description Diego Ocampo 2008-10-10 11:41:10 UTC
Latest working kernel version:2.6.24
Earliest failing kernel version:
Distribution: Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex Beta
Hardware Environment: Samsung R70 / A009
Software Environment: Gnome Desktop 2.24
Problem Description: The laptop just freezes with a black screen, not any key combination works.
With Ubuntu Hardy i could suspend my system even if after booting it again the sound card had stoped working.

Steps to reproduce: I am calling the suspend function from the Gnome Shutdown menu.

Please boot into the minimal configuration with init=/bin/bash, do "mount /sys && mount /proc" and then "echo mem > /sys/power/state" with both the known good and the failing kernels. This should suspend the box to RAM, so please check if you can resume, in both cases.

Today I tried to suspend my laptop again and it worked!
I will try it few times more in different situations and i will report and close the bug.
I apologize for not to try it more times before.

No problem. Even if it fails occassionally, that's worth reporting.
Comment 4 Diego Ocampo 2008-10-13 13:54:46 UTC
After try it more times I can say suspend is stable in my computer, so i close the bug.
Thanks anyway!
