This entry is being used for tracking a regression from 2.6.26.  Please don't
close it until the problem is fixed in the mainline.

More operator error than bug.  I'd overlooked the requirement for the experimental=1 option to be set for the entry to appear.  Patch submitted to remove this requirement.

patch is well on the way to mainline. I am marking this resolved, to be closed when the patch hits mainline.
