If attaching a external monitor to my laptop, very frequently the screen freezes. Mouse still moves, but no action can be done on the windows. What can be seen on the display is only a part of the desktop, no panel or Unity dock can be seen. Suspend and resume doesnt help. Killing the lightdm restarts X and resolves the issue, however all applications need to be restarted.
