My sound codec is alc1150, I installed ubuntu 14.04 and updated my kernel to 3.16.1-031601-generic., I plugged into my headphone into rear red jack and I got extremely low volume despite I set max volume with slider, so is front Headphone jack. I dumpped the sound codec and found they are all EAPD node. I also get some skipping and distorted issue earlier, but now only low volume issue.

Could you check a patch below? I'm not sure whether both changes in the patch are needed. Try to apply one of them, too.

Hello, Takashi Iwai. Care to tell me how to patch one of them? I am greenhand of linux.
Comment 4 Takashi Iwai 2014-09-04 14:52:23 UTC
The patch will be merged to the upstream tree (in 3.17-rc4), so wait for a while until it lands to stable or distro kernel.

I have to test one of them. How to do that?
Comment 6 joybeefly 2014-09-04 15:37:07 UTC
Do I have to download the source kernel and the compile a new one with this patch?

Hi, Takashi Iwai. I updated kernel to 3.17.0-031700rc4-generic, the issue remains. Sound is damn low from my front and rear lineouts and headphone.
