I am not sure if this is the correct place for reporting this bug. I have tried to report via launchpad (im using Ubuntu Linux), but since i am using kernel 3.14.0 from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.14-trusty/ , launchpad says to report bug here.

when i close the lid of my notebook, screen goes blank. A ping from other computer says PC is shut down (no answer) (i doubt it, since i changed that optoin to not shut down the PC when lid is closed)

Acer Aspire E1-522
Quad-Core AMD A6-5200 CPU
8 Gb DDR3 @ 1600 MHz RAM
1  TB HDD
AMD radeon HD 8400 GPU

Reporting it here is fine for an upstream kernel, but this is mostly used to track bugs not necessarily fix them.
