Distribution: Fedora Core 5
Hardware Environment: Intel Pentium 4 Mobile HyperThreading CPU.

Problem Description:

I have a Dell Inspiron 5160 laptop with the latest A08 BIOS.
I have installed Fedora Core 5, but when I press the power off button, nothing
happens. Also, when I close the lid, nothing happens. Otherwise ACPI seems to be
working fine. CPU throttling, battery capacity and fans seems to be working.

I have attached the output of dmesg, dmidecode, acpidump, lspci and
/proc/interrupts.

Comment 7 Patrik Pettersson 2006-08-22 11:12:22 UTC
I noticed that this bug is pretty much the same as reported in early 2004 for
a Dell Inspiron 5150 in bug 1752 (http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?
id=1752).
Comment 8 Len Brown 2006-08-30 20:38:45 UTC
yes, it seems that bug 1752 applies equally to the 5150 and 5160.
