please try this patch http://lkml.org/lkml/diff/2006/9/7/235/1 (new VIA IRQ
quirk behaviour change) and report the result. However  I think you will need
latest kernels, 2.4.18-rc7 or newer  is  my recommendation.

Closing as UNREPRODUCIBLE for now but ISTR that this problem was fixed.
