I'm running Linux mint 15 with 3.8.0 linux kernel. I upgraded to 3.11.5 and after the reboot when I try to log in, it says:"cinnamon just crashed. you are currently running in fallback mode". I did everything to fix on 3.11.5 kernel and nothing happened. I booted from 3.8.0 kernel now it runs perfectly.

My video card: "01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GF108M [GeForce GT 420M] (rev a1)".
My kernel now: "Linux linuxmint 3.8.0-19-generic #30-Ubuntu SMP Wed May 1 16:35:23 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux"

I hope this helps.
I'm just going to install 3.9 to see if I face again the same problem.
