Problem Description:
My system is a laptop (acer ferrari 3000) which has a builtin 4-1 card reader.
It used to work just fine with SuSE 9.3 (2.6.11). However, I upgraded to 10.0
(2.6.13) and now,
it doesn't work anymore. Whenever I insert my SD card, the orange light lights
up for quite some time (which is not normal) and then nothing is mounted. I get
this error in dmesg :

I also tried other distros running kernels 2.6.12, 13 or 14 and all are a NO GO.
Only kernels <= 2.6.11 work.

Anyone got an idea ?

Do other ports on the 4-in-1 work?

Do other SD cards work?

Can you rebuild a kernel with USB Mass Storage Verbose Debug enabled?

I have no idea, I don't have any other media to try with, unfortunately. 
However, I have a total of 3 card readers (one of them is the 4-1, the other 2 
are USB sd readers). None of them work.

I'll do that soon. I upgraded to 10.1 alpha4, hoping the new kernel (2.6.15) 
would help. Alas, same problem :(

Can you post the kernel log messages for when you have enabled usb mass storage
debugging?

If you try the latest 10.1 beta kernels, can you let us know if that works
or not?

Sorry I wasn't able to respond to you yet. I am unfortunately very busy and 
I've switched back to Windows (temporarily only, I hope !). As soon as 10.1 is 
out, I'll try it and tell you.
