Ask ubuntu URL has details but I'll paste it here: "I have compiled the 3.8.2 kernel and the fan doesn't stop after resume from suspend 12.04.02 LTS xubuntu" " I can't figure out what I did that's causing this issue. This is xubuntu latest version 12.04.02 LTS Link for kernel config: http://pastebin.com/AuYWdNDR Any sugestions? Thank you for any help. " Hi Fernando, What's the status of the previous kernels? Does the fan stop after resume? Thanks. Hello, I tested with kernel 3.2.0-38-generic version of xubuntu and works well (stop's after resume). Best regards, Please attach dmesg after system resumed, and your acpidump output: # acpidump > acpidump.out Thanks. According to this page: http://askubuntu.com/questions/267934/i-have-compiled-the-3-8-2-kernel-and-the-fan-doesnt-stop-after-resume-from-susp The problem is fixed, is it the case? no, there is just a work around there to disable ACPI Fan driver. So the problem is not fixed. Bug reopened. Oh right, my poor eyes need some rest. So Fernando, Do you still want to fix this bug? If so, please attach your acpidump out, and the dmesg after resume. BTW, does kernel 3.2 work with FAN module compiled? |
