I'm not sure that it's an fbdev problem though? maybe it is a fbdev problem, but I have used a lot lof 2.4.x kernel and 2.6.10, 11 and 12 kernels. why do you think it is now a fbdev problem.? or do I misunderstand you. in fact with 2.6.13rc4 there is a "new" behaviour. greetings aksel On Sat, 30 Jul 2005 12:46:15 -0700 bugme-daemon@kernel-bugs.osdl.org wrote: > http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4971 > > > > > > ------- Additional Comments From akpm@osdl.org 2005-07-30 12:46 ------- > bugme-daemon@kernel-bugs.osdl.org wrote: > > > > http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4971 > > > > Summary: dual head and 2.6.13rc4 > > Kernel Version: 2.6.13rc4 > > Status: NEW > > Severity: normal > > Owner: other_other@kernel-bugs.osdl.org > > Submitter: infos@aksels.de > > > > > > Distribution: slackware > > Hardware Environment: x86, athlon 2800 > > Software Environment: xorg and dual head > > Problem Description: on kernel 2.6.12 the dual head xorg.conf works as used in > > kernel 2.4 and 2.6.12.3. with kernel 2.6.13rc4 the dual head screen location > > switched. what was left screen is now right screnn, changed nothing but kernel > > update. tried this version because many atapi cdwriter problems. 2-6.13rc4 did not > > eliminate the cdwriting problems, but added a unresolovable xserver problem. > > > > > > Steps to reproduce: > > see above > > if you need my xorg.conf just send me an email > > A couple of people are reporting dusl head problems. I was simply explaining why I'd cc'ed the fbdev-devel list on that email. I don't think it's an fbdev problem, but as usual can you post your dmesg, XFree86.0.log (of both the working and nonworking version), and details of your hardware? Well in theory there are no changes to the DRM in 2.6.13rc4 that should affect dual-head, .. but an xorg.conf and Xorg.0.log would be appreciated... I am sorry, I can not send you a log file, because I downgraded already to 2.6.12.3, because I was not able to get my monitors running. but I attach the xorg.conf On Sat, 30 Jul 2005 18:07:41 -0700 bugme-daemon@kernel-bugs.osdl.org wrote: > http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4971 > > airlied@linux.ie changed: > > What |Removed |Added > ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- > CC| |airlied@linux.ie > > > > ------- Additional Comments From airlied@linux.ie 2005-07-30 18:07 ------- > Well in theory there are no changes to the DRM in 2.6.13rc4 that should affect > dual-head, .. but an xorg.conf and Xorg.0.log would be appreciated... > > ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- > You reported the bug, or are watching the reporter. > didn't get an xorg.conf but I believe this is the same bug as 4965 |
