Bug 4675

Summary: irq #9: Nobody cared! Disabling IRQ #9 - then network card doesn't work
Product: ACPI Reporter: Christian Ternus (starmaven)
Component: Config-InterruptsAssignee: acpi_config-interrupts
Status: REJECTED INSUFFICIENT_DATA
Severity: normal CC: bunk
Priority: P2

OS: Linux
Kernel Version: 2.6.11.10 Subsystem:
Regression: --- Bisected commit-id:

Description Christian Ternus 2005-05-28 08:39:34 UTC
Distribution: Slackware 10.1
Hardware Environment: Latitude LS H400 Notebook with Netgear WG511T (Atheros
chipset) network card
Software Environment: ACPI enabled, APM off, Yenta-socket cardbus handler
(standard from 2.6.11.10), MADWiFi card drivers
Problem Description:
Receive message "Disabling IRQ #9" on PCMCIA startup, wireless network card then
fails to detect any networks or connect at all.

Steps to reproduce:
Happens 2/3 of the time when the PC boots. Happens right when the PCMCIA
services are being enabled, producing the following message:

Please provide more informations like acpidmp, full dmesg and lspci -vv. Is
this a VIA chipset? Does previous version of kernel work in the system?
