Description Marc Schütz 2012-06-07 19:31:34 UTC
Overview:
After some rounds working on the laptop, then suspend and AFTER resume, linux crashed with kernel-panic when I plugin AC/DC (Power). But I checked this many many many times.
If the time after going to suspend and resume is short (less than 2-4 hours I think) I´m not able to reproduce this bug.
But if I go to work, coming home and then resume my laptop from suspend-to-ram!!
login and then plugin AC/DC (Power) I get this bug almost every day.

Actual Results: KernelPanic/Crash

Expected Results: I got this bug first on Kernel 3.2 (since upgrade to Ubuntu 12.04)
But after many checks it seems not to be a problem only on ubuntu, also the 3.4 mainline kernel is affected.

Then tested with 3.4(final) and I got it also.

when you boot the system into metest86+,
does it run overnight?
Comment 3 Marc Schütz 2012-06-13 14:51:00 UTC
I can't believe that this is an memory related issue, but know after
2 hours:
Passed 100% no errors
Test #8

...
will try again a whole night if possible

hi, marc,
any updates on this?
Comment 5 Marc Schütz 2012-11-28 18:48:30 UTC
HI,

SORRY. can be closed.
There was no hardwareerror with my notebook. seems that this is fixed upstream.
I'm using proposed and so the newest kernel from 3.2.x
at the moment
3.2.0-34-generic #53-Ubuntu

and minimum since 3.2.0-32-generic
this bug never appears for me.

cheers
Marc
