Description Mark 2012-05-22 16:05:30 UTC
The Ricoh SD R5C822, R5C843 Card Reader is not detected on a Sony Vaio VGN-G21VN.
I've tried to boot the notebook with an SD card plugged in but no luck.

The Ricoh reader works in other notebooks, as stated by other users. On my G21VN it's not found. This notebook has a (separate slot) Memory Stick reader that works with no problems at all.

For the record: I have tried it on Ubuntu 12.04 x64 with the latest ubuntu kernel and the latest upstream kernel. Tried also with Fedora 16.

Thanks.

I've attached: /proc/cpuinfo, lspci -vvv, /proc/iomem, /proc/mod

I marked this bug as a regression because in the 2.6.32 version (tested on Debian stable), I can see the Ricoh R5C843 SD/MMC card reader.
It is on 07:04.3 PCI address.

Thanks.

Updated the status of this bug report. The issue still occurs with v3.13-rc3 on Ubuntu 14.04 latest daily build (downloaded today).
