If I revert b74f05d61b73af584d0c391 in 3.4-rc1, suspense and hibernate work fine again. Affects me too on an Acer 7741G. This is probably relevant to our interest: https://lkml.org/lkml/2012/4/1/79 Konstantin's patch in https://lkml.org/lkml/2012/4/1/79 works also for my T510. If I apply it to 3.4-rc1 the laptop wakes up from suspension. This was fixed in commit 6742259866d03d5bc19815441ba928e8378343dc Merge: 20d9d9a dba69d1 Author: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org> Date: Wed Apr 4 10:04:01 2012 -0700 Merge branch 'x86-urgent-for-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tip/tip Pull x86 fixes from Ingo Molnar. dba69d1092e291e257fb5673a3ad0e4c87878ebc x86, kvm: Call restore_sched_clock_state() only after %gs is initialized shipped in linux 3.4 closed |
Created attachment 72782 [details] My .config for 3.4-rc1 I used 3.4-rc1 on a Thinkpad T510. When I try to wake up from suspend, the screen remains dark and the machine reboots. hibernation works fine. syslog contained no information. git bisect between v3.3 and v3.4-rc1 yielded b74f05d61b73af584d0c39121980171389ecfaaa x86: kvmclock: abstract save/restore sched_clock_state as the first bad commit.
