I encounter the same problems with one of two identical usb drives with 3.0.6 and 3.1.6

I think this is a similar problem on a ASUS M5A97 pro and an external 1TB USB3 hardrive.
Comment 3 Greg Kroah-Hartman 2012-02-22 21:05:26 UTC
All USB bugs should be sent to the linux-usb@vger.kernel.org mailing
list, and not entered into bugzilla. Please bring this issue up there,
if it is still a problem in the latest kernel release.
Comment 4 rocko 2012-02-23 04:57:46 UTC
Is this generally true of bugzilla.kernel.org (ie nobody should use it to report bugs), or just for USB bugs?
Comment 5 Greg Kroah-Hartman 2012-02-23 16:35:30 UTC
For USB bugs specifically, other kernel development groups do use bugzilla, it depends on the developers.
