To reproduce the problem, I tried to install the version 3.0 of Linux on Ubuntu 11.04 and I also tried to use it on Ubuntu 11.10. In both the system, with the same kernel, I used the Sound Recorder to record something and in both the system it emitted cracklings. The problem cannot be replied with an older version of the kernel.

Is this still seen (heard ?) with current kernels ?

With newer versions of Linux, I don't have problems.
