All linux kernel versions fail to boot on the Dell Vostro 3750. I am not sure yet which driver causes the problem. One of the kernel messages is
'acpi(pgep) firmware bug defines _DOD but not _dos', although this is not the last error, and it doesn't seem to be critical.
The Ubuntu alternate install cd works without problems. The installer's kernel is a stripped down version of the installed kernel (eg less modules are loaded).

I have also had contact with someone who had Linux running without any problems.
Can anyone enlighten me on this subject?
