Bug 4022

Summary: Failure to detect Master and Slave drives using firewire
Product: Drivers Reporter: Pete (pete)
Component: IEEE1394Assignee: Stefan Richter (stefanr)
Status: CLOSED CODE_FIX
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Hardware: i386
OS: Linux
Kernel Version: 2.6.9 Subsystem:

Description Pete 2005-01-11 14:08:37 UTC
Distribution: FC2 & FC3
Hardware Environment: Multiple i686, Oxford 911 controllers
Software Environment: FC2 & FC3
Problem Description: When using external firewire drives with master / slave
drives, only one drive per controller is detected. It appears that when both
drives are present it notices the slave drive. When only one drive is present
it notices master. The drive it ends up noticing functions properly.

Steps to reproduce: Add an external firewire controller with two drives
configured master and slave.

PS. I have a system with six (6) Oxford controllers, so it's not a failed
hardware issue.
