Description Nelson M 2011-07-01 17:47:05 UTC
Currently have the Lenovo Thinkpad W520 notebook using BIOS 1.22 and currently it is only reporting one temperature. With BIOS 1.06 all the CPU cores report their temperatures, as well as the temperature of the motherboard. Hoping to see if this can be something that's corrected within the Linux kernel rather than through Lenovo, as they seem unwilling to even acknowledge this as an issue. Under Windows 7 all sensors report normally under both BIOS 1.06 and BIOS 1.22. Not really sure how to go about obtaining any other info that may be needed to troubleshoot this, but I am 100% committed in resolving this and will do whatever is asked to delve deeper into this issue.

It's great that the kernel bugzilla is back.

Can you please verify if the problem still exists in the latest upstream
kernel?

how did you get the temperature?
It would be great if you can attach the acpidump output and all the temperature support with both BIOS 1.06 and BIOS 1.22.

bug closed as there is no response from the bug reporter.
please feel free to reopen it if the problem still exists in the latest upstream kernel.
