Hardware Environment:NF7-s v1 Maxtor 120Gig 6Y120M0
Software Environment:Kernel greater then 2.6.5
Problem Description:Kernel screams on attempt to boot and locks up system using
the libata module.  Boots fine with older ata module.

I have the same problem. Kernel hang up during boot whenever loading sil 3112a
with libata driver.

I found this discussion. first patch of this thread helps me from lock up.
But I think it is a "quirk" patch.
