Description Hans 2011-04-18 09:45:13 UTC
the laptop doesn't resume after hibernation.
after the image is loaded, the capslock LED flashes.

I put the machine to sleep with
echo platform >/sys/power/disk
echo disk > /sys/power/state

this happens even after booting with "init=/bin/bash", and no modules loaded.
This bug has been introduced in 2.6.37.6
Kernel 2.6.37.5 does not show any problem with hibernation/resume.

I'll attach the kernel configuration, and I'm happy to do any testing.

I forgot to mention that all tests (freezer, devices, platform, processors, core) using the pm_test work properly.
Comment 3 Len Brown 2011-04-26 01:52:15 UTC
hmm, there are only 56 patches between 2.6.37.5 and 2.6.37.6,
can you bisect which one caused the regression?

does the latest upstream kernel also break?
If so, when did it start breaking, 2.6.38?
Comment 4 Zhang Rui 2012-01-18 05:01:42 UTC
It's great that the kernel bugzilla is back.

Can you please verify if the problem still exists in the latest upstream
kernel?
Comment 5 Zhang Rui 2012-05-24 07:57:12 UTC
bug closed as there is no response from the bug reporter.
please feel free to reopen it if the problem still exists in the latest upstream kernel.
