* Ubuntu is stuck on black screen after grub menu when kernel 5.11 is selected.
* Boots fine on kernel 5.4.0-26.30.
* Kernel 5.11 boots ok with `acpi=off`.
* when I boot in recovery with 5.11 it's stuck after the line `[ACPI]...`
* My laptop is Thinkpad Edge E130.
* No graphics nvidia card present on my system.

PS:
I am not sure what to sort of report to attach.

Tried installing Fedora and Manjaro. Same thing.

* acpi=force acpi_osi=Linux works as well.

This is a pretty old machine.

And I'm confused, you mentioned that
"Ubuntu can't boot with acpi=off on kernel 5.11" in the subject
but
"Kernel 5.11 boots ok with `acpi=off`." in comment #0

So with kernel 5.11, does it boot okay without any acpi parameters?
