lspci and /var/log/

Logs show that wifi driver crashes quite soon after the system start, sometimes even during installation of the system when packages are downloaded.

I can confirm that after reinstalling Windows 10 on the same hardware the wifi works just fine, tested large downloads and download of windows updates.

Other similar closed bugs are dismissed/commented that they are hardware errors, but can it be, if it works on windows?

Some comments also mention that bug does not happen after switching to 2.4GHz network, in my case happens on two different AP's 2.4GHz

Related bugs: 91171 91651 92231 95811 98411 92381 96391 97081

Bios was not updated, and does not have any extra settings, nothing related wake-on-lan.

These two commands are a temporary workaround, as they make wifi work again for some time:
echo 1 > /sys/bus/devices/0000\:00\:03.0/remove
echo 1 > /sys/bus/pci/rescan

Attaching logs after the crash including lspci -vvvv -xxxx output.

Hi Miro,
1. Is this a regression from some kernel/fw update?
2. Can you add your windows logs here so we can see the fw version?
3. Generally, this is an ancient FW version. can you try this one: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/firmware/linux-firmware.git/commit/?id=11b7607b738eceacdf32505cb77b8151602bff9b?

Thanks,
Golan

Hey Miro,
Last ping, will move to rejected next week.
Obviously please re-open if not handled once you have a capacity to answer here.

Rejecting.
Please re-open if still happens.
Comment 6 Miro Janosik 2022-02-08 09:03:21 UTC
hi Golan Ben Ami, I'm sorry for not replying in time.
Hardware was borrowed and no longer in my posession, so I won't re-open.

Interesting that you noted "an ancient FW version", but I was installing very recent OS, maybe the Ubuntu installation contain too old FW?
