Hello,

I would like to know if could be possible to make the mic mute and mute button leds to work on the HP dragonfly G1.

this device use snd-hda-intel combined with sof-firmware and has the alc285 codec.

the buttons are: FN+F5 for mute and FN+F8 for mic mute.

I have been able to light on the buttons with those hda-verb commands.

For Mute Led (FN+F5):
hda-verb /dev/snd/hwC0D0 0x01 SET_GPIO_MASK 0x4
hda-verb /dev/snd/hwC0D0 0x01 SET_GPIO_DIR 0x4
hda-verb /dev/snd/hwC0D0 0x01 SET_GPIO_DATA 0x4
-> led turns on
hda-verb dev/snd/hwC0D0 0x01 SET_GPIO_DATA 0
-> led turns off

For Mic Mute Led (FN+F8)

Buttons mute and audio works quite well. Only leds have problems.

Let me Know if you need other info. A fix similar to the bug 211893 should fix also my problem.

The mute-LED fix up for DragonFly G2 has been already merged in the upstream, but not about G1.  I'm not sure whether it's the same chip.  Please upload alsa-info.sh output (run the script with --no-upload option and attach to Bugzilla).

At best ask your distribution.  It rather depends on the distribution how to build a kernel, especially as a package.

I compiled the kernel in traditional way and thested the patch. The mute button works fine but the mic mute button don't work as expected.

NB: I had to make a remap to the mic mute button (like most of hp laptops).

When you change "Capture" switch manually, does the LED change accordingly?

The fix was submitted to upstream and now merged.  It'll be included in 5.14-rc1, and likely backported to stable trees afterwards.
