Realtek ALC233 on Asus TUF FX505DT laptop. Combined headset (headphone + mic). Headset mic not being detected at configuration. Headphones work correctly.

Just the external mic being detected in the configuration from bios:

alsamixer shows only the external mic volume and boost controls.
