Percentage battery power left depletes rapidly with regular use of the PC.
This issue does not occur on such a scale in Windows, leaving me to believe this is an issue with something in Linux using too many resources.

what is the model name of your laptop?
please confirm if this is a duplicate of bug #198665, by confirming the test results for comment #40.

This issue is not occurring when my computer is off, so it cannot be a duplicate of bug #198665.

Could you please use powertop to track which components are the offenders?
And also please provide the turbostat/top/perf record to check the activity of the system?
