dmesg

I've had this problem since owning a Dell XPS 13 9350 laptop with an Intel 8265 wireless card. If I use a bluetooth keyboard (with or without wifi enabled), it will work fine for 5-15 minutes, but then stop responding for 30 seconds and reconnect. I've just tried the latest linux-firmware from git that included an updated firmware for the Intel 8265, but I'm having the same problem.

I've attached my dmesg.

Also see here for some debugging output that I had recorded a month ago:

Please let me know if there's any additional information that would be helpful.

Hello,

you have CC'ed the WiFi people but this is a bluetooth issue. We can help when there are Coex issues, but not for pure BT issues.
We'll be CC'ed to this bug, but can't take ownership on it.

Hi Emmanuel,

Sorry about that. Is there an Intel email address for bluetooth?

I was following the bug reporting instructions here that I interpreted as being for all wireless issues:

No worries. I am sorry, but I am not aware about an equivalent support address for bluetooth.

This teaches me that I should emphasize this on the webpage then.

I think i have the same bug. Bluetooth mouse disconnects after 10-30seconds and I have to restart BT to get connecting it again.

I solved the problem updating intel/ibt-11-5.sfi and intel/ibt-11-5.ddc from here https://github.com/wkennington/linux-firmware/tree/master/intel because they are more recent as far as I know.

Still some error messages on the dmesg but it's working now.

I don't think they are quite the same because:

1. When my device disconnects, it always reconnects automatically after ~30 seconds without needing a restart.

2. My chip uses the ibt-12-6 firmware.

3. I'm already using the latest version found in the git repo to which you linked.
