If there's a headphones plugged into the laptop and I boot up Linux Mint 18.2 there's no sound coming from the headphones nor the laptop speakers while the sound volume is set (not muted). If I change sound volume nothing happens. If I unplug headphones speakers starts playing and if I plug headphones back they play normally.

P.S. When booting up I hear cracking noises from my headphones.

I'm using the latest version of the BIOS in the Dell Inspiron 3567 laptop. Current version is 2.0.3 released in 17 Oct 2017.

I've tested this problem on the v4.14 kernel.

To be specific:
$ uname -a
Linux tuturu 4.14.0-041400rc7-generic #201710292231 SMP Sun Oct 29 22:32:07 UTC 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I've also tested it on Arch Linux but it doesn't work too.
$ uname -a
Linux tuturu 4.9.60-1-MANJARO #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Nov 2 13:08:20 UTC 2017 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Somehow it started working normally on Linux 4.9.60-1-MANJARO kernel. I think installing Linux headers have resolved this but I'm not sure about this. I'll provide more information if sounds issues will affect me later.
