I am currently running with a 4.9 kernel (and previously I was using a 4.8 kernel, and before that I was using 4.4) on my development laptop and I certainly wasn't seeing the sort of performance numbers you are seeing. Nor has anyone else been complaining about this --- and given that there are a lot of people running Debian testing with a 4.8 kernel, I'm sure we would have heard the complaints if this was a widespread problem. So there must be something fairly unique about either your hardware or software configuration. Or perhaps your kernel configuration. We would need all of that information in order to be able to even start looking at your complaint. Created attachment 254681 [details]
kernel configuration
hello,
i can send you only my configuration of the kernel at the moment and some infos about my hardware because i can't restart the other server at the moment.
i have a big problem with such bugs: they will find me all and this is not the first time, that i have a bug which don't have any other user.
sample: bug in capi-driver which used by asterisk. much time later the programms warn to use this driver. the time i send informartion of this bug i get only as response, that all works fine.
i try to send you all information of the other system, next time i start it. but i don't know which kernel the system use at this time because i send the provider a mail to change to the last 3.xxx kernel to solve the problem.
goodby
