kde screen failes after commit:

    drm/i915: Fix Sandybridge fence registers
    

After login in to kde, kde draws al its startup icons. After this the screen goes blank and there is a repeated patern of blocks. switching back to a console (Shift-F6) alters the patern somewhat but does not give me a usable display.

Regression fix.

This was the singular typo I could find in that patch, so hopefully it is the entire fix.

Had the same problem here and can confirm that 36-rc6 (which contains Chris' patch) works fine in that respect.
