This isn't a driver bug; it's a distro start up configuration issue. You might try a different distro. The latest fedora and ubuntu releases go straight from from the bios post screen to the plymouth boot screen. I've used Ubuntu and removed the boot screen and it did the same thing. I've talked to others not using boot screens on other distros who have reported the same thing. Sorry I'm not talking about having a distro with boot/splash screens but just booting up the console and seeing that at boot time and without a boot/splash screen it appears that this is the behavior. THANKS This is not a bug, KMS modules are loaded in initrd in most distribution you won't have graphic mode until they get loaded. You can tweak your initrd/kernel to load the KMS driver as early as possible. |
