It might have been related to a broken uvesafb setup. For now, the problem has gone. Closing. Problem reappeared. Problem still exists in most recent rc. Laptop behaves almost like its turning off (harddisk spin down, fan stops, etc. and then suddenly start over again). Created attachment 27004 [details]
kernel config
my kernel configuration file for 2.6.35-rc3
Can confirm this on Dell Latitude E6510. Reproduced on 2.6.34 and 2.6.35-rc3. Attaching my kernel configuration file. Created attachment 27005 [details]

I've just tried latest version from torvalds/linux-2.6.git (123f94f) and the system shut down successfully. I've tried it just once and hope it wasn't a random. Need more time to check, whether it is really fixed. Jan Problem seems to be gone in 2.6.35-rc4. Not quite sure yet, need more testing. Fixed for me. Fixed for me. |
