Description John 2010-03-19 20:01:46 UTC
I own a Gateway M7315U laptop. The brightness is always set to maximum and I am unable to adjust it with the function keys. The laptop claims to have an "Intel Cantiga Express" chipset. I run slackware-13.0.

can you change the backlight by poking /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness?
Comment 7 John 2010-03-23 03:41:33 UTC
I have just tried changing the brightness by poking /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness , no luck.
