Boot Messages

KMS does not work with my old Dell Latitude C400.
Video Chipset: I830.
All I get is a blank screen (Backlight is on).
When I attach an external Display to the VGA Connector, I can see the boot Process (framebuffered console) on this external display until the start of X.
X gives me two blank screens.

Nomodeset works for me, but when I start googleearth in X, I also get a blank screen.

There was no external display attached when creating the enclosed logs.

Does this still happen with 2.6.33? Can you attach your X log as well? Sounds like KMS is coming up a bit since you can see messages on one head, but X is failing to even come up there which is strange.

No changes for me with 2.6.33 final. Still a blank screen on internal monitor and no X on external.

Works for me now with Kernel 2.6.34-rc6 and DRM-Mesa-X git builds - but only in 16 Bit Depth. 24 Bit Depth gives me a shifted screen in X and 3D-games like Chromium-BSU will crash the whole system (works in 16 Bit Depth!).

seems to work perfect now with Kernel 2.6.35-rc4, xf86-video-intel 2.12.0 and Mesa 7.8.2.
