This entry is being used for tracking a regression from 2.6.29. Please don't
close it until the problem is fixed in the mainline.
Comment 1 John W. Linville 2009-04-16 18:15:06 UTC
This might relate to the problem Marcel was describing about disassociation during scans?
Comment 2 Reinette Chatre 2009-04-16 20:19:36 UTC
This report appears to be a complaint of the presence of the message " beacon loss from AP 00:19:5b:e7:a2:f8 - sending probe request" and not any problems with the connection self.

There was a patch to post this message only if debug is enabled, see 72ac470d663b4cd5e66247a4307f09ac4e519320 "mac80211: quiet beacon loss messages" ... perhaps this patch can go to 2.6.30?
Comment 3 John W. Linville 2009-04-17 14:58:40 UTC
Yes, I intend to send that one soon.

Comment 5 sirius 2009-04-23 10:16:45 UTC
Cannot confirm iwconfig showing slow bit rate like mentioned in first post, but the message is still there in 30-rc3. It's spitted out every 120 seconds (+/-1) - is the beacon loss intentional/expected?

John told me that the patches fixing this are in net-2.6 and hopefully they will make it to 2.6.30-rc4:

Seems fixed in 2.6.30-rc4.
