I have confirmed that adding this to the get_sample_rate_quirk gets rid of the freq errors. (Isn't there a way to automatically detect this problem instead of having to rely on quirks?) There is no longer continuous error reporting but it warns only twice. So, it shouldn't be so much annoying with such a device. And, I don't want to continue this bug report forever. For any new device, please open another bug report instead of hanging over the dead horse. Thanks. Apparently Jabra fixed this bug in newer firmware (yes, even a simple headset has firmware nowadays). The old buggy firmware was 1.14 (see bcdDevice field), the latest is 2.23. This version also fixes a nasty problem that caused modprobe to hang for 100 seconds. |
