Will you please attach the output of acpidump? There are two platform drivers for asus laptop : drivers/acpi/asus-acpi and drivers/misc/asus-laptop. Will you please use the drivers/misc/asus-laptop instead of drivers/acpi/asus-acpi and see whether the problem still exists? Thanks. please 1. kill acpid 2. cat /proc/acpi/events 3, attach the output of you press the hotkey for several times. I'm afraid I won't be able to send you any additional information. My laptop is dead :( It worked only 10 days !!!! I hope someone with similiar hardware configuration will be able to continue diagnose and report these issues. Regards, Jonathan Dray Hi, Jonathan From the dmesg in http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11004#c8 it seems that the drivers/acpi/asus-acpi is used. Please use the platform driver of drivers/misc/asus-laptop.c and see whether the problem still exists? Thanks. sorry to hear that. I'll reject this bug as it's UNREPRODUCIBLE. Please reopen it and it works again someday. :) Hi, Zhang I got my laptop up and running again. It was a hardware issue with the battery that is now resolved. I reinstalled linux with a complete 64bits environnement : kernel and userspace. Then I moved to a 2.6.26-rc8 kernel and blacklisted the asus-acpi driver so that asus_laptop module get loaded at init time. Setting the backlight now perfectly works and the settings are kept after a reboot. The kernel version is the same. I suppose it was a asus-acpi or a software issue. Thanks for your help Regards, Jonathan |
