A picture of the hang is also attached. Kernel 2.6.19 works with no issues. checking if image is initramfs... Steps to reproduce:

ow, ugly. Please try removing the special kernel boot options. If any of them are still needed in 2.6.23/2.6.24 then please raise separate bug reports for that. I suspect that the only practical way in which we'll be fixing this is if you can run a bisection search to find the offending commit.
Thank you for the prompt response. By removing the reserve=0x1000,0x0fff from kernel options initramfs issue is resolved. I had to recently add reserve line in my kernel environment to resolve a reboot issue ( reboot was acting like shutdown) on compaq 6910 mobile machine. I will test the compaq 6910 to see if the reboot issue is resolved in 2.6.23 or 2.6.24. I have already tested 2.6.22.5 and the issue of reboot still exist on compaq 6910.
