So, I think it is not specific to rc4-mm1. But after I reformat the disc (under windows), It works ok. does it mean there's nothing to do with kernel about this issue?

Repartitioning will fix it. It has nothing to do with the kernel. This bug report can be marked Rejected and closed. Alan Stern
