Description Christophe Dumez 2007-08-25 09:25:55 UTC
Most recent kernel where this bug did not occur: 2.6.20
Distribution: Kubuntu Gutsy
Hardware Environment: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: ALC880
Software Environment: ALSA 1.0.14-1ubuntu1
Problem Description: My sound is not working anymore with 2.6.22.5 kernel although it works fine with kernel 2.6.20 on my Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo M6453g laptop. In fact, I have sound with external speakers but not with internal ones.

I posted infos on my sound card there: http://pastebin.ca/537564

tagged as a regression :(

I have just tried kernel 2.6.23rc6 and my sound is back. Internal speakers are now working (although sound was a bit weak and I had to increase "surround" level in Kmix to get it louder?). I also checked, headphones are still working.
