Description Cyrill Helg 2007-06-26 01:52:40 UTC
Most recent kernel where this bug did not occur:2.6.21
Distribution: gentoo
Hardware Environment: IBM Thinkpad T43
Software Environment:
Problem Description:

I can't boot all 2.6.22_rc* kernels with an initrd. When booting I get the following message about 6 times:

request_module: runaway loop modprobe binfmt-0000

If I disable the initrd, booting works without problems.

I know this is a patched kernel. But this is a vanilla issue as I tested.

I seem to recall having seen reports of this before. Does anyone recall
the reason for it?

I'm sorry but this problem was caused by this patch:
http://dl.liveforge.org/ragnarok-sources/2.6.22-rc6/broken-out/acpi-dsdt-initrd-v0.8.4-2.6.22.patch
