Description Jens Lautenbacher 2007-06-16 09:41:00 UTC
Most recent kernel where this bug did not occur: 2.6.20 - all versions released in Fedora Core 6 worked completely flawlessly. I use the last 2.6.20 kernel in Fedora 7 now, and it also works in this environment as expected.
Distribution: Fedora 7
Hardware Environment: Samsung X20 Laptop with i916GM video card.
Software Environment: all Fedora 7 2.6.21 Kernels (internal numbers kernel-2.6.21-1.3194.fc7 and kernel-2.6.21-1.3228.fc7)
Problem Description: 2.6.21 doesn't allow my Samsung X20 laptop to resume from suspend-to-ram. Backlight goes on, I see a yellow "inu" printed on the screen, the LED for the hard disk goes on, but remains steady on. Nothing more happens.
There are now problems when using a 2.6.20 kernel in the very same environment (Fedora 7 updated as of 2007-06-16)

To clarify: The last sentence should read: There are NO problems when using a 2.6.20 kernel...

Jens, is this still a problem with current 2.6.24+?
Thanks.
Comment 3 Jens Lautenbacher 2007-11-17 05:42:51 UTC
No. Can't tell for 2.6.24+ but it started to work again ~2.6.23
Fedora 8 currently works better than ever.
