Description Gert 2006-10-21 07:36:15 UTC
Most recent kernel where this bug did not occur: 2.6.15-27
Distribution: Ubuntu Edgy
Hardware Environment: Toshiba Satellite M100, Dell Inspiron 6400, Fujitsu
Siemens V3205
Software Environment: Ubuntu Edgy
Problem Description: While the system powers off, I hear a sound like in the
case of disk failure. The disk isn't powered off before the laptop 's completely
powered off. When the power 's cut, I can hear a little "tzzzzzzzzzzzzzzk" (not
so nice) sound.

Hi, I just searched bugzilla for a libata-bug and found #7383.

There is a patch (I was informed that it is already on it's way into the kernel
source) that resolves this issue.
