Description James Courtier-Dutton 2006-10-08 14:34:10 UTC
Most recent kernel where this bug did not occur:
Distribution: 2.6.18 patched with rt5 realtime patches.
Hardware Environment: Pentium 4
Software Environment: Linux
Problem Description:
System hangs with masses of output on the console rolling past.
Problem not present in 2.6.17.11.

Steps to reproduce:
Boot to a terminal login.
modprobe netconsole netconsole=@192.168.0.10/,@192.168.0.255

Use sysreq-S to try a sync of the HD.
System hangs.
The system in fact hangs on the first kernel log entry needing to be sent to the
netconsole.

James,

does the problem persist on 2.6.18-rt7 ?

Please reopen this bug if it's still present with recent kernels.
