Most recent kernel where this bug did not occur: ---- Distribution: gentoo Hardware Environment: Acer 1642Wlmi Software Environment: Problem Description: Value of residual charge on /etc/acpi/battery/BAT1/state isn't correctly. Steps to reproduce:
I have already try to fix dsdt but iasl not report error or warning :-(
Please attach acpidump, dmesg output, content of /proc/acpi/battery/*/* files.
Created attachment 9102 [details] dsdt

I also try the two dsdt at : http://acpi.sourceforge.net/dsdt/view.php?manufacturer=ACER&name=Aspire+1642WLMi PS: when remaining capacity is 0 mAh the notebook function for others 40 min :-)
Which battery do you mean, is it old or new battery? Is it possible to check the situation on another battery? Do you know somebody who has the same problem on the same hardware?
Is a new battery .. the battery is OK ( i check it in windows ).. for klaptopdaemon the battery is 0% and the remaning capacity in /proc/acpi/battery/ BAT1/state is 0 mah.. but the notebook continue to function for others 40 min.. I don't have another battery, sorry!
> Is a new battery .. the battery is OK ( i check it in windows ).. for ... Can you confirm the fact that windows power meter shows correct battery capacity when the Linux kernel fails (i.e. remaining capacity is 0 mAh)?
Yes. ADDITIONAL_INFO: in the /proc/acpi/..../state the value of remaining capacity ..remaining for a long at 51 mAh..after the value go down to 0 mAh ..
Please verify the problem on the latest stable kernel - 2.6.18; I am interested in the content of /proc/acpi/battery/*/* files and dmesg after boot.
Please attach /proc/acpi/battery files when the battery fully charged.
Please reopen this bug if: - it is still present in kernel 2.6.19-rc6 and - you can provide the requested information.
