Description S. Joanou 2006-06-19 11:58:05 UTC
Most recent kernel where this bug did not occur: 2.6.16
Distribution: FC5 + 2.6.16 upgrade
Hardware Environment: Acer TravelMate 8200 Notebook (Dual Core)
Software Environment: Fedora Core 5, upgraded to most recent 2.6.16 kernel

Problem Description: Wireless networking does not work for the Intel
PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection adapter. This site has the driver.
http://ipw3945.sourceforge.net/

Steps to reproduce: The driver is not included therefore a system with this
Intel connection adapter will not work.

This driver needs to be submitted to the "official" kernel by the project
maintainers. They are well aware of this, and they have their reasons (some
technical, some political) for having not done so to date.

I assure you that they/we are aware of this driver.
