It's a configuration bug in the Kconfig files by the IrDA folk - please report this to them (IrDA isn't my area.)
ok, posted it to their mailing list.
Fixed once this patch: http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=linux-netdev&m=114851214221898&w=2 gets applied.
